Children’s playscript: ‘Wise Clytie’

I’m pleased to have a playscript up at Drama Notebook (.com). It’s based on the Greek myth of Clytie, a water nymph who became a sunflower, set to mourn for eternity over unrequited love.

Not in my play.

I had such fun rewriting fate for Clytie – she is an absolute legend in my script for middle/upper primary-aged kids. Kudos to you, Clytie, for flowering on your own terms. And for refusing to wither over some dumb bloke (ah, my bogan roots are showing).

I’m grateful to Janea Dahl for adoring my short play enough to give it a home. Find the script here.
